It’s early

I’m tired.

I don’t like waking up in the morning. No matter how little sleep I have. Waking up in the morning always feel screwed compared to waking up in the afternoon.

I hate that the time I spent awake when the sky is dark is getting shorter and shorter. It sucks! But oh wells there isn’t much of a choice. School’s rather boring as usual. But thing is I’m still at home. Yawns

Had some kinda bonding last night. But I guess everyone was too shagged too think of anything to talk about.

Oh wells. I can’t think of anything to type right now either. Let me find a video to show you guys.

Simple explanation really. The speed of the frames which the camera captures is sync with the speed of the blades, which causes this awesome illusion that the blades are not spinning. Wicked.

ECLIPSE FRENZY!

27042010211 27042010213 27042010214 27042010215 27042010216

Well, just my collection of eclipse that I’ve eaten this year I think.  I know it’s not cool with that 1 missing box. I’m buying tomorrow. ^^

Inactive

So, why am I posting less often?

It’s not that I don’t have the time, it’s well, cause I’m lazy.

I mean, I don’t know, it’s like, I suddenly remembered why I hated going to school. It’s not that school is THAT boring. It’s the feeling of repeating the same schedule over again and again that really bums me out.

Okay, since I’m lazy to find any videos. I’ll be ranting out my thoughts.

Okay, think about the things we’re learning now. I think about the computers that we’re using, the computer language that I’m going to learn. The circuitry inside it what I’m going to learn. how complex and hard it will be. All of these is developed in 40 years.

Then I start thinking about all our knowledge and technology. So the furthest recorded signs of mankind dates back to around 5000 years ago. Which means, whatever we have now, took 5000 years to create up till this state. So you think about it, right now, in 2010, our textbook compromises of the summary of the knowledge humankind have gained over the years. What will happen 5000 years later?

Well, don’t talk about 5000, what about 100 years later. If computers have evolved to this state in 40 years, what about 100 years later? How fucking hard will it be for the future generations to study?

Well, let’s assume that when mankind started, there was a population of 1,000. 5000 years later, it grew to become 4.4billion. Since no one knows everything in this world. I visualized the humankind to be a giant network for storage of knowledge, passed down from generation to generation. Like an internet. Somehow we’re linked together but we’re not. A fucking huge network of information made by our brains. In the future we will be able to implant computer chips into our brains. (assuming that biotech makes an awesome breakthrough). When that happens, imagine if we’re all able to linked together as one network. I wonder how much humans will advance if that was possible.

So well, it’s just the things that I fantasize about when I’m alone and stuff.

Shagged, wondering

image

Yay, finally managed to get the vaio media player to work properly. I’ve been looking for this for such a long time. I really like this interface. Also known as XMB (Xcrossmediabar)

Reason being, I like minimalistic styles. Now that I got a sony laptop I can finally get their official build for this app!

I want to live forever, and if I could live forever, everything would be granted.

That’s sexy

Alright, this is a self portrait by LA artist Kasey McMahon.

Titled: Connected
(well, it’s made from internet cables)

cat-5-girl-1

cat-5-girl-2

I know, it’s sexy. Really sexy. And amazing to create something like that.

K-ON!

Heh, it feels like it’s been awhile since I blogged.

Anyway, I found this stupid product, that’s actually on sale online, it’s called the girlfriend bolster.

girlfriend pillow

Yeah…. What the heck.

It’s like, I don’t know, pathetic that someone would even come up with such an idea. And uh, basically I didn’t update because there really isn’t anything much going on in life, neither is it in the computer world.

So uh, I guess I really need to study harder. (well, a good start is the half of success! )

Well, up till now I’m pretty satisfied with the laptop, just that it feels alittlle weird typing on it with the rubber protector on, and through a game I realised that I cannot press more than 2/3 keys at one time, which. Really, discourages me from playing games. ALOT.

Well, I’m kinda tired. Let’s hope tomorrow will be fun (:

Bored in class. Again

Okay, I wonder what the hell I’m doing in class posting again, but this is seriously damn boring. He keeps telling us things that we already know. COME ON, TEACH ME SOMETHING THAT I WANT TO KNOW. Stupid lecturer.

But okay lah, can tell that he has a lot of experience, in fact too much. Like he’s from another era, not the future but the previous though. LOL.

Gonna get to moberly to play pool later I think. Though I really feel like sleeping. What the hell. But oh wells, don’t have any videos to post right now because I can’t really start searching on youtube for the things that I would like to share with you guys and so far the rubbery keyboard seems to be working pretty well ^^

Ah omg. I feel like a part of me just died inside, whatever lah, fuck this shit lol. okay i think it’s ending. IT’S ENDING. FUCK YEAH.

Rubbery keyboard

Alright, I went back to exchange the keyboard protector and now it fits perfectly. Just that now it feels a little weird to type on it. In fact, REALLY weird.

Now the annoying is that we can only have the school’s software installed on one computer, so I have to bring the other laptop to school tomorrow to prove to them.

anyway, this is a video that I’m sure all of you would love.

Thank me for awesome search.

Bored in class

Well, what do you do when you’re bored in class and you have a laptop in front of you? You play games. what do you do when you have no games to play? You talk to people online, what happens if you don’t have people to talk to online?

You blog.

So here I am.

19042010187

Stupid lessons about autoCAD 2009.

Somehow the programming lesson right now is listening to an old man talking things not related to computer. so uh. fuck it.

And my computer can’t connect to the school’s assignment website, it’s like hinting to me that I shouldn’t do the work. But NO. I shall not falter, my will shall not waver. But I’m really damn bored, makes me feel that I should’ve taken the IT course instead.

But never mind, it’s just the first day!

Oh man. Later still need to drop by to do some SPICE configuration then after that need to drop by tamp to change something. Oh. Life sucks. Dang.

Sony VAIO E Series VPCEA16FG

AWESOME.

FINALLY GOT IT. I’m loving everything about this man

Well, something happened before I got this lappie (another one crashed), but I’m not going to talk about that because it’s all about the good things right now!

So anyway. I just took 2 pics to show you guys lah. Since, uh. I don’t know, there’s nothing spectacular about it.

18042010185

18042010186

So uh, here are the specs!

Intel Core i5-520M
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
4GB RAM
500GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

1799 bucks

Not cheap, but at least the specs inside is rather good. Or awesome. And well, since it’s from sony I don’t really have to worry about finding someone to repair it if it fucks up. So haha.

Well, I really don’t plan on installing any games on this laptop even though I’m REALLY REALLY tempted to do so. And I should really refrain from doing any unnecessary mods to the system…

So anyway, I got nothing much to say right now. Gotta go school a little earlier tomorrow to configure this. Ah. damn it.

Friday, April 16, 2010

Ah, stupid

It's never too late to be stupid

This will be awesome

Yeah, the idea to get another laptop is finalized.

And after a day of searching in Courts, Best, Challenger, SimLim Square. I’ve create a table and made my choice after a long discussion with my dad about the price/performance ratio.

So what have I decided on?

VAIO.

Surprising? Well. I needed something with performance and style. And SONY has done a great drop at bringing the prices down for people like me. So yay me!

Well, all I have to do is just to head down somewhere and get it. And I say somewhere because well, VAIO is everywhere. I just really really wish that they don’t run out of stock. =.=

Well, how does it look like? I can’t be bothered to get images from the internet to show you guys, but I’ll take pictures of it when I get it lah okay.

So well. My life really isn’t that interesting right now, even though there’s quite a lot of thoughts going through my head, it’s probably something rather crazy. Like seriously, I wonder what’s wrong with my fantasies these days. Trust me, it’s nothing horny.

It’s kind of like, I’m starting to visualize everything in the way computers work, for example, I was thinking

Hmm, I wonder how the electric signals from our skin manages to transfer the feeling of pain to our brains. Does all the different parts of the body have their own line of transport, or is the a centralized kind of pavement for all the signals to gather in the celebrum before being decoded by the brain and send signals down back to the centralized lane and back to the body?

Ah I don’t know why I’m thinking about these also. But it keeps me awake.

Pixels

I know, it’s been some time since I posted a video.

So yeah something to show you guys. Something awesome. At least to me. :D

The funny stuffs…. Well, another time, I’m currently using firefox so this is what’s in my bookmarks. Wait till I get back to Opera… Sometime soon.

Oh quick update, my course, low quantity, near zero quality, but I like the course, this is really what I went to SP for. So yay me.

Bullshit

This is seriously bullshit sia. What kinda stupid SPICE training is this. We’re just sitting in a classroom, watching a presentation which is not presented by a teacher but rather a pre-recorded audio file which is played along with the poweropint which really doesn’t make any sense to me as to why we can’t do this at home.

Seriously, I’m sooooo not looking forward to the flag day tomorrow. Oh yeah, poly students have some stupid flag day. And as pointed out by this. 34 year old in my class.

Hell yeah,

there’s a 34 year old dude in my class.

So the thing is, charity work should be voluntary, not mandatory. So whatever fuck it. This school may be awesome, and well, most of it is awesome, but for the most part they make us do rather stupid stuffs for freshmen. Oh well. Screw it, I don’t feel like typing so much liao.

Soft toys gallore

Well, I forgot to post this up. I recently went to my awesome friend’s house, who isn’t as awesome as his sister. Because, come on, take a look at this.

This is one awesome sister.

11042010169 11042010170 11042010171 11042010172 11042010173

Come on man, what the fuck? Oh side note, all of these? Given by boyfriends. Notice the S a the back.

Seriously. Dude, you have an awesome sis. LOL.

The next best thing

Well, since I ain’t able to hack my phone no matter what. (since there really isn’t a firmware update for my phone yet)

The next best thing I could do to it is just to customize it with whatever I have to make it look as unique as possible.

So well, this is how it looks like now.

awesome!

Come on, there’s no way you can say that it isn’t awesome. LOL.

Why positive thinking is bad

Okay, this is an article from another web, I’ll just copy and paste, source link will be below.

Positive thinking is so firmly enshrined in our culture that knocking it is a little like attacking motherhood or apple pie. Many persons swear by positive thinking and quite a few have been helped by it. Nevertheless, it is not a very effective tool and can be downright harmful in some cases. There are much better ways to get the benefits that positive thinking allegedly provides.

Perhaps the statement that best exemplifies positive thinking is "When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade." It seems so self-evident that this is a good thing that we never question the wisdom of the adage. But it does not take a whole lot of digging to unearth the flaws in this reasoning.

First, did fate really hand you a lemon or was this merely your initial, unthinking response? Second, is a lemon really a bad thing, something that you would rather not have, but now that you do have it you will somehow salvage something by making lemonade? Finally, it is quite stressful to be handed a lemon until such time as you figure out how to make lemonade. Do you really have to go through this phase?

No matter what happens to us in life we tend to think of it as "good" or "bad". And most of us tend to use the "bad" label three to ten times as often as the "good" label. And when we say something is bad, the odds grow overwhelming that we will experience it as such. And that is when we need positive thinking. We have been given something bad, a real lemon, and we better scramble and make some lemonade out of it and salvage something out of this "bad" situation.

How tiring and tiresome!

Now think back on your own life. Can you recall instances of something that you initially thought was a bad thing that turned out to be not so bad after all or perhaps even a spectacularly good thing? Like the time you just missed a train and had to wait a whole hour for the next one and it was horrible except that your neighbor also missed it so you talked for the first time and a beautiful friendship developed. You will find many instances in your life, some of them very significant such as the job you desperately wanted but didn't get only to find that a much better one came by and you would not have been able to accept it if not for the earlier rejection.

Now lets propose something radical and revolutionary. Lets propose that, no matter what happens to you, you do not stick a bad thing label on it. No matter what. You are fired from your job...your mortgage lender sends you a foreclosure notice . . . your spouse files for divorce . . . or whatever. This seems so far-fetched as to be laughable. Of course these are horrible tragedies and terrible things to happen. Or are they? Is it possible, just possible, that you have been conditioned to think of these happenings as unspeakable tragedies and hence experience them as such?

Viktor Frankl in his book Man's Search for Meaning narrates the tale of the beautiful girl of privilege who was grateful to be in a concentration camp because she was able to connect with a spiritual side of her that she never knew existed. Observations like this led Frankl into his life's work of determining why, when faced with extreme adversity, some persons positively flourish while others disintegrate.

Many who rise so triumphantly never label what they go through as bad and lament over it. They simply take it as a given as if they were a civil engineer surveying the landscape through which a road is to be built. In this view, a swamp is not a bad thing. It is merely something that has to be addressed in the construction plan.

And if you never label something as bad, then you don't need positive thinking and all of the stress associated with getting something bad and experiencing it as such till you figure out how to make lemonade out of it simply goes away.

That is the huge pebble in the positive thinking shoe. "This is bad. Really bad. It's a lemon. But somehow I will make some lemonade out of it and then perhaps it won't be so bad." First you think its bad and then you think you will somehow make it less bad and there is a strong undercurrent that you are playing games and kidding yourself. Some people succeed. Many don't. And those who don't are devastated that the model they were trying so hard to build caved in on them. That's why positive thinking can sometimes be harmful.

Can you actually go through life without labeling what happens to you as good or bad? Sure you can. You have to train yourself to do this. You have been conditioned to think of things as bad or good. You can de-condition yourself. It is neither easy nor fast but it is possible.

Lets say you break your leg. There is stuff you have to do like go to an orthopedist and get it set and go to therapy when the cast comes off. But all the rest of the stuff you pick up "Why did this have to happen to me? Bad things always come my way. I am in such pain. Who will hold the world up now that I am disabled?" is simply baggage. You don't have to pick up this load and the only reason you do is because you were never told that you didn't have to.

I am telling you now. Don't pick up that useless burden. Don't label what happens to you as bad. Then you won't need positive thinking and much of the stress in your life will simply disappear. Poof! Just like that.

Back from SPSU camp!

Alright I’m finally

back!

I totally forgot to put the

On Hiatus

status but nevermind lah, i’m back!

The first day was fucked up, like really really, cause the weather was so bloody hot that it’s just screwing with us all. And I guess my body overheated. Zzz. But yeah, it was fun, my group or, family as they call it, was awesome.

Well, I missed my 1/3 chance of getting something ^^ but then I got the leaders (or parents as they call it) that I wanted. So… Yeah it was awesome.

Cheshire is so cute! (not real name)

LOL. But like man! I love the racial diversity that I wasn’t able to have in secondary school. We have like chinese malays indians and caucasian in our family. Damn bloody awesome.

So anyway, the thing that I really don’t like about it is that it’s very military style. Greetings and all the stupid shit. But well, at least it feels organized. ^^ AND WE HAVE THE BEST GROUP OK.

Most hyper group in the camp, also the best performance in Camp Fire :D

But sadly we weren’t allowed to bring our phones around (or rather, it’ll just be too bloody troublesome) so I wasn’t really been able to take much photos. But okay lah! There’s a photographer that runs around taking pictures so I guess should be able to see the pictures on FB sometime soon?

Well, the second day was the most fun, for really simple reasons really.

1. Got to know each other better
2. The weather wasn’t fucked

And the games was quite interesting too. There was this 100 seconds OMG game which requires you to do 5 games(stations) in 100 seconds.

First is to make a spiral with our bodies on the ground
2nd is to hook our arms together and sit then stand at the same time
3rd is group skipping (18people)
4th is passing marbles from cup to cup using only mouth to hold the cup
5th is making human pyramid then 2 girls have to climb up

And you have to do all of that in 100 seconds. And that the stations are not all in the same place okay. Kns make us run like shit.

But we completed in like, around 300+ seconds, which was second. We would really want to see how you can finish that in 100 seconds. Screw you all! LOL

But the most fun was the multiple-family captains ball. It’s like regular captain’s ball, but with 6 teams playing at the same time, and then the Game Personal will start throwing the balls into the field, so you just take whatever you can (different items different points) and try to score them. Well.

The items are kinda ridiculous, arranged in order of points from least to most.

Soccerball
Basketball
Ping-pong ball
Tomato ?!
Cabbage ?!

CHICKEN

Yes. They threw like, 1 entire raw chicken at us. And we have to score that. What the fuck?

Then there was this guy who stuff the cabbage into the chicken and shouted.

“CHI BAGE! “

And then threw it out into the field for us to score

Seriously man. LOL.

Well, on the 2nd night, we had some clubbing. In a …. *drum rolls!*  chapel. Whatthefuck? But yeah, it was like, 1~3am lah. But it was crazy, inside club, outside buffet, there’s like chocolate on marshmellows/fruits, drinks, cake, pizzas!

Wa seriously, talking about the nights right, the first day activities ended at around 3+++am. Finally got to bed at around 4+. Then they make us wake up at 7am. Then another crazy day of activities(club night), they then tell us

Do not sleep tonight, we are not responsible for whatever that happens to you.

wtf?! And well, fuck it, I’m too tired so I went to sleep. At around…. 3+am. When I woke up in the morning, 7am as usual. I felt something sticky. I opened my eyes and look at my arm, drawn all over with markers, with a touch of TOOHPASTE, blue PAINT, red PAINT, green PAINT. And well, my LEGS kana also.

Of course, it seems kinda bad at first, then I realized that my “injuries” was minor, I see many people who were far worse off than me. LOL

Oh wait, I tio flour all over me also. Well, I had fun lah.

And really, I like my family. Alot :D

Oh wait, forgot to say my family name, it’s

MEKONS

10042010158

10042010160

10042010162

MY MUM ^^

10042010167

that guy in the middle? That’s my dad, he got owned by everyone. (well, from the organizing committees) Kana whack by slippers, land they put a dustbin cover on his head too. But we were protesting against them so didn’t have the chance to take the picture.

My family (group) is the largest, cause our hierarchy spans out to almost all the organizing committees, so we really had alot of fun. LOL.

ALRIGHT~! THAT’S IT FOR NOW!

Rest for a day and prepare for the official orientation on monday. Rofl. PICTURES HOPEFULLY UP SOON!  ^^

First design

Okay as I’ve said I’m going to start from the design first before I jump into the codes. For the moment, this is my current design up till this point. Thoughts and comments appreciated. Tyvm (:

ss0.5

This is. Tiring.

Okay as I’ve said I’m trying to create a new blogskin, but then it’ll be alot easier on me to port this current layout because I like it and I’m currently doing changes to it. But seriously, the CSS is so bloody long it makes it really tiring for me to look through. It’s like. This.

ss0.3

Like seriously, have to put them side by side if not bloody hard to see. (thankfully there’s aero snap in Win7 :D  )

Oh well, while I’m at it I suddenly realized that it’s already 12.15am. I don’t want to sleep at 5am like yesterday. So I’m stopping soon. ( Honestly I have no idea what kinda skin I’m going to end up with. )

But there’ll definitely be more “internet interconnectivity” coming here! :D

For the moment enjoy this vid!

Now or later?

Okay, have you ever met with a situation where you’re either supposed to choose to act according to your feelings or your logical thinking?

Well, let me give you an example, let’s say you’re want to eat ice cream on an empty stomach when you just woke up in the morning. Like you really really have a craving for it.

So the situation is this, you know that, if you eat it, you’ll be happy and satisfied, however, you also know that you will probably have a stomachache in the near future. So, will you choose to eat it, risking that pain in the future, or wait until you have something in your stomach before eating the ice cream?

So basically it’s kind of like, will you do something that’ll make you happy now knowing that it’ll make you unhappy in the future?
Or would you not do it and be “unhappy” right now?

Please reply in the tagboard. I’m interested to know.

Giving up is always an option

500x_untitled-10_01

But oh well. I’m not going to give up, because I’m not gonna fail. HAH. Oh wells, tomorrow SP briefing for camp, then finally going to watch the long anticipated

Clash of the titans

Well. I’ve heard that the story is not deemed as desirable but the graphics is still awesome, and that’s what I’m focusing on so I guess it’s more or less okay :D

So uh, a quick tip for people who is using a smartphone.
For people who want to conserve as much energy as possible, for the network connection, instead of using dual mode, change to GSM, or use UMTS if you want to use 3G. But if you’re just making calls/sms, GSM would do the job for you.

Ah, I keep thinking of something say right here but by the time I open up the writer I’ve already forgotten what I wanted to say.

Ah yes! I remembered what I want to ask you guys already, I’ll post it under the next post. Look forward to it!

I can’t help it!

Well, I can’t help it! I HAVE to post this.

I mean, this is. Just. Plain. Awesome.

NOW THAT’S WHAT YOU CALL A SUPERWOMAN. HAHAHAHA.

Just showing off

Well, nothing much to do, so just showing off what is possible

ss0.1

Well… What can I say

So well, today has been a rather, peaceful day I would say. But I finally cleaned my drawer. (and table). So like, it’s much neater right now. Recently I don’t know why I think I’m starting to change, it’s like my tolerance for messiness is getting lower and my awareness for energy conservation is getting higher.

Life is filled with awkward moments, not to mention that I was like, forced to say a bedtime story last night. (for fuck?! ) But oh wells. It’s. Fascinating.

So anyway, here’s something really awesome.

Codec fixed

Hell yeah. My codec problem with ffmpeg is resolved. ( or rather I just deleted it because I don’t need it anyway. )

Anyway for people who are using VLC player, give SPlayer a shot. I’m using it now. The player seems to be able to play any files so far (well, literal translation to super player). so well, doesn’t seem half bad, the most useful feature is that it automatically searches it’s database for subtitles and auto sync to your show.

Thanks to that,
-Big Bang Theory
-How I met your Mother
-Gary unmarried

all have subs for me lah. So yeah, you’ll definitely appreciate subs in big bang theory.

Internet fixed

Okay, I knew it could fix it if I bothered to. So anyway, turns out that well. (probably) starhub is testing out their new IPv6 servers or something so it started lagging, DNS response time hit an astounding 1.74 seconds on average.

Alright so here are my results in a graphical form.

test1

test2

So yep, I changed my DNS server to Singtel oh wells. Whatever lah, as long as it’s faster I don’t care. LOL.

Well, my torrent seems to be slower right now, but oh wells, time will tell if what I’ve done is the right thing :D

Oh in case you changed your homepage or never set to singapore. They have a new homepage. (slightly different name too)

http://xin.msn.com/

msn

What i want you guys to notice is this.

msn

TV guide online as your homepage, now that seems useful.

Geek rants

okay.I spilled coffee again. I really have to thank that my keyboard is, well, rather water proof. But I can’t be bothered to wash it again. So screw it. but now my bed is kinda stained. So. uh.  Oh wells, fuck it, there’s nothing much I can do right now.

Anyway, I’m pretty annoyed by now so I’m pretty bent on solving my internet problems. I resetted my router to it’s optimal settings and changed some stuffs too. Then I’m trying to stick with microsoft stuffs. For example, I’m using Internet Explorer and Bing as my search. And I’m trying to fix my MSN as well and just prevent it from freezing for no reason.

Anyway random. this is a good anime
- To Aru Kagaku no Railgun

KIND of childish but it’s quite fascinating. Okay back to the geek stuffs.

I think I SHOULD make a new skin. But then the new layout uses XML, so I’ll need quite abit of time to know which one refers to what. (okay it’s not that hard to identify but it’s annoying nevertheless)

Man, I’m feeling kinda giddy and lethargic, probably cause I haven’t eaten anything yet. Oh wells. Screw it. I can’t think of anything to write right now.
